Captain Tim King

Founder, Owner & Lead Guide
King’s Catfishing Guide Service

Born and raised in the Kerr Lake area, Tim started fishing at age 10 with his grandfather and got hooked on catfishing. As a teenager, he bought a kayak and started fishing on his own, developing his own style of fishing, refining his skills, and catching a whole lot of blue catfish, flatheads, channel catfish.

This led Tim to officially launch King’s Catfishing Guide Service and YouTube channel in 2017 as a way to share his knowledge of catfishing and love of the outdoors with others. Over the years, he’s had the pleasure of leading hundreds of catfishing trips and especially enjoys introducing kids and other first-timers to catfishing.

His largest catch on a guide trip so far was a monster 130lb blue catfish!

In addition to his YouTube channel, you may have seen Tim featured on the Sportsman Channel, The Slime Show podcast, CatfishNOW magazine, or at the Richmond Fishing Expo (Richmond, VA) or the Bass and Saltwater Fishing Expo (Raleigh, NC).

Tim considers himself lucky to be living out his childhood dreams by being a catfish guide, and credits his grandfather, Robert Paynter, and his wife, Kayla, for their tremendous support.
